A fast moment with Joash Leader

St. Kitts & Nevis have the small number in population in full Caribbean, In football, it must mean that there aren't footballers enough to keep good footballers every time. However, a good use of the money in the development of the football is showing that the number absolut of the population isn't a matter when there is an effective work.

The high level in the island is SKNFA National Premeir League that is a league that have supported well some players to play pro like DeVaughn Elliot that left Village Superstars to join Directv W Connection and today he is playing in Ascenso MX for Murciélagos FC, Julani Archibald that also left Village Superstars to play for W Connection and last season Ordell Flemming, also a forer Village Superstars' player, that joined Morvant Caledonia United. And ther's much more to come.

The league have 10 teams. Winners Circle Newtown United, Village Superstars, St. Pauls United, St. Peters, Cayon, Garden Hotspuers, Conaree FC, SPD United, Bath United and Rivers of Living Water. The league become year by year at a better level. The players also get better season by season.

The improvement in the local football is also reflecting on the National Team. The country archieved 92th place on FIFA's ranking above europeans countries. The Sugar Boys also got their first expierence against europeans sides when they won over Andorra and lost to Estonia. Devaughn Elliot scored the first goal of the history of his country against a country from the old continent.

Nowadays, the league counts with some young players that deserve attention. Village Superstars' attackinf midfield Kimaree Rogers is one of the best footballers in Caribbean and have all to go foward. Cayon's striker Javeim Blanchette, Newtown United's Carlos Bertie, St. Pauls United's Keithroy Freeman also are making their mark in local football and in the National Team. Joash Leader: I have seen in the football in St. Kitts and nevis that it bring community together and also bring a good competitiveness with each team.

Inside Caribbean Football: SKNFA have showed a competitive championship that have been used as a good support to send players to the National Teams and Trinidad and Tobago's PRO League. How do you see the importance of this championship for the country?

Joash Leader: The importance of the championship as you mention help to get players the opportunity to play abroad and to represent the country at the highest level.

Inside Caribbean Football: This is the best moment of the football in the country with players doinf well abroad like Atiba Harris, Devaughn Elliott, Julani Archibald, Gerard Williams, Tishan Hanley and Ordell Flemmingand the local guys on the same way. What we can expect from this great generation?

Joash Leader: You can expect great things from this generation knowing some of our players getting the opportunity to play abroad and being successful and as well with the locals players using there experience to be as successful with everyone has the same mind set.

Inside Caribbean Football: According with CFU, every chamapion and runner up of caribbean national leagues get the chance to play CFU Club Championship. St. Kitts' teams haven't played in that. is there any reason for the absence of teams from St. Kitts?

Joash Leader: I think the reason for not  taking part in the CFU Club Championship that some of the club are not fully supported with the financial aspect to take part, However in the near future we should one take part in that tournament.
