The supporters that
came to the Antigua Recreation Grounds yesterday on sunday March 17
at 3 PM saw a dominant Liberta Blackhaws win a comfortable 3-0
against Parham FC. The win secured the club the new champion of ABFA
Premier League 2018-2019. The goals of the match were scored by
Antigua and Barbuda National midfielder Avier Christian at 19 and
90+2 and striker Courtney Clarke at 31.
Old Road FC and
Liberta Blackhawks arrived at 18 Matchday drew with 31 points. The
third Greenbay Hoppers with 30 points and the Grenades FC with 29
also arrived for the last match with chances to be the champions. Old
Road FC and Grenades FC faced each other at 5 PM and Grenades FC won
the match by the minimum advantage 1-0. Greenbay Hoppers had a big
win over Five Island Fc as the game ended 5-1. Liberta Blackhawks and
Greenbay Hoppers FC are qualified to play CFU Club Championship 2020.

On the other side of
the table, the clubs regalated were FC Aston Villa and SAP FC. Tryum
FC will play the Play-Off match against the third of ABFA Division
One. The clubs that stay at ABFA Premier League are Old Road FC,
Greenbay Hoppers FC, Parham FC, Swetes FC and Five Island FC.

Liberta Blackhawks
FC did the first attempt of the game at 6’ but the ball was over
the bar. St. Vincentian Emerald George did great movement in the left
flank but the ball was over bar at 14’. Justt a few seconds later,
the veteran antiguan striker Lennox Julian putted his teammate face
to face to Parham’s goalkeeper Davrick Lockhart that did good
intervition. On the first minutes of the game, Liberta arrived
dangerosly at opponent’s goal but the lack of whimsy to shot to
goal didn’t help the scoreboard to change.
The first goal of
the match happened when antiguan left back Shavorn Phillip crossed
the ball and Lockhart left the ball escape and find Avier Christian
that putted Liberta in front in the game. At 21 minutes the team in
black and green arrived again dangerously to the opponent area. In a
kicked corner the ball found antiguan center back Jamoy Stevens that
shooted to the goal but Lockhart did good save.
Parham FC, however,
was with much difficult in the game. The defence was in trouble with
Liberta strikers and the attack wasn’t criative yesterday. A good
oportunity to draw the game happened in a good ball from the defence
that left Antigua and Barbuda U20 midfield Kenja Benjamin run faster
Liberta’s defenders and headed to the goal but Cuban goalkeeper
Leymis Sanchez did easy defence.
In a stolen ball in
the middle of the field, Julian was linked in right flank he crossed
the ball, Lockhart tried to take out the ball but Courtney Clarke was
fast and pushed the to the goal. 2-0 Liberta!
The thrid goal
almost happened in 38 minute when Julian arrived at area, dribble the
goalkeeper but the field ended and the ball was over the bar. He
tried to score his goal again in 42 minutes when the ball was crossed
to Parham’s area and he dominited the ball with the chest and shot
to the goal but the defence intercepted the try.
One minute later,
International winger Novelle Francis tried to score but the ball was
over the bar.
The hal-time saw
Libert leading the scoreshit by two goals in a consistent game and
take advantage in opponent’s mistakes.
The second half
started with Liberta pressuring and at 51’ Avier Christian kicked a
corner and was a dangerous opoortunity in the red side area. In 60’,
they try again but Davrick Lockhart stay with the ball. Other change
was in 65’ minute when the team runned by the left side, a player
keeps the ball in the area passes to Liberta’s #9 that sees his
shots blocked by defenders. Just few seconds later, Liberta tries
again to score the third goal now in a opportunity out the area.
Parham FC react in
67 minute, with a try of Novelle Francis from the right side but the
ball goes over the bar. Francis was the dangeroust player for his
team on the second half as Liberta was more close to make the 3-0
then Parham starts a reaction.
Lennox Julian gets
another change when he finds the ball face to face to the goalkeeper
but Parham’s defence recuperated the ball. The fans demanded a
penalty but the referee did not score anything and the game
continued. Julian tried again to scored in 84 minute but looks like
the ball didn’t want to get into the goal. Trying to score at least
a goal for his side, St, Vincent and Grenadines International Nazir
McBurnette runned with the ball but the field ended.
In the addictional
time, 90+2, Antigua and Baruda U20 winger Javorn Benjamin crossed the
ball to the area and found Avier Christian that adjusted the ball to
make it 3-0.

With the loss of Old Road FC to Grenades FC and job done, Liberta
Blackhawks is ABFA Premier League 2018-2019 champions.
