Inside Caribbean Football: With this many years of expierence about the football in your country, how do you see the football in Dominica?

Glenson Prince: The football in my country is competitive but not at a very high level. We have many talented young players but our football lack the structure needed to make us competitive on a regional and even international level.

Inside Caribbean Football:What do you feel when you play for your country?

Glenson Prince: When I play for my country, I feel a sense of pride and honor. Not everyone gets the opportunity to represent their country so I am extremely grateful and proud to have represented my country at the senior level for the past 10 years.

Inside Caribbean Football: Do you think Dominica FA Premier League is competitive enough to support well local players to go play abroad?

Glenson Prince: As pointed earlier, our league is lacking in structure. It is an amateur league so no salaries are involved. It makes it very difficult for the players and even coaches as they all have other jobs to provide their families. This makes it extremely difficult for clubs to train the way that they want to. having said that, we have 4 players who currently play in other leagues in Caribbean: Malcolm Joseph(Antigua), Julian Wade(Guyana), Briel Thomas and Anfernee Frederick(Trinidad). All these players started in the leagues here in Dominica so we do have the talent.

Inside Caribbean Football: Dominica is a among the few countries that don't use English-based players. Do you think it would be good or not needed on Dominica National Team?

Glenson Prince: During the 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers we had over 7 English-based players on the team. We lost 2-1 on aggregate to Barbados who faced USA in the next round. The team was stronger but many persons complained that the local players and that the English-bassed players were there only because they couldn't get to play for England. I personally believe it was good for our country but I would like to see a balance between foreign based players and local players who are good enough.

Inside Caribbean Football: What do you miss in the local football?

Glenson Prince: The excitament and rivalry is what would be missed the most. The fans are very vocal with their support which creates a great atmosphere during matches.

Inside Caribbean Football: Do you think more dominican footballers could be playing in other caribbean leagues?

Glenson Prince: I believe more Dominican players should be given the opportunity to showcase their talent on the regional level. This will benefit both the players and the country will be able to call on them to play important matches.
