KHADIJA SHAW: NEXT MOVE TO ENGLAND?

             According to Goal.com, Manchester City is interested in signing jamaican center forward Khadija Shaw (24) next season. The center forward is a player that the english team needs to get more pieces to improve their attack options. English forward Ellen White (31) is their only one option right at scoring goals. Manchester City is ranked second in the FA Women’s Super League (WSL)

Jamaican forward Khadija Shaw is linked to Manchester City

Shaw appears as an option after her amazing season for Bordeaux Girondins, in D1 Arkema, french top flight. She scored 20 goals in 17 games, alongside PSG’s striker Marie Kotoko. The Reggae Girlz’ star also scored 2 goals in Coupe de France reaching the mark of 22 goals in 18 games this season. Manchester City’s players with more goals in WSL are Ellen White with nine goals and the scottish Caroline Weir, with eight goals.

Khadija Shaw is the main name of Jamaica Women's National Team. She has scored 42 goals in 30 games for Jamaica. The 24-years-old was in the squad that played a Caribbean first ever FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019.

CARIBBEAN PLAYERS AROUND THE WORLD: THIERRY GALE

   Barbados' youngster Thierry Gale was the first local player to sign professional. The 18-years-old winger plays for Budapest Honvéd, in Soproni Liga, the top flight of Hungary. He played 8 matches and scored once against Mezokovesdi in 2020/2021 season. Wearing the #34, the winger also scored one goal and one assist in two matches in Magyar Kup, the hulgarian cup.

Professional contract

    Gale signed for Budapest Honved in October, 2018 and joined their youth team. The barbadian attacker also played for the second team in a lower division. He signed his first pro contract in 2020 as he signed for the club for three years. The winger made his professional debut on August 21th during a match of Hugarian League 3-1 defeat to MTK.

    Previously, he was a member of Notre Dame and Pro-Shottas Academy, in Barbados.

National Team


    The winger has played friendlies, Concacaf Nations League and CONCACAF U17 Championship for the Bajan Tridents counting with 6 caps and one goal. His official debut for Barbados Senior National Team was on 25 March 2018 against Bermuda at the age of 15 years old. He substituted Rashad Jules. The game ended 0-0. Thierry Gale's first goal with Men's National Team jersey was in 4-nil victory over saint-Martin in Concacaf Nations League. Gale also represented Barbados at U17, U20 and U23 levels.

Gale is son of former barbadian footballer Dwayne Gale, that was the champion of Barbados Premier League twice for Paradise FC and once for Notre Dame, in the early 2000s.
