Today we will talk about a
trinidadian center back that at the age of 27 has much stories to tell in a
career that involved some teams, expierences with the national and at international
level with the club.
Leslie Joel Russell was involved
in the good years of representative clubs in Trinidad and Tobago football
history that are W Connection Football Club and San Juan Jabloteh and also Soca
Warriors. Russell is among few players that won four times TT PRO League and
with two diferentes clubs.
Currently he is playing for Club
Sando FC being a leader at defense for the club in the TT PRO League 2017.

Career
Russell represented San Juan
Jabloteh since his 14 years old straight up to the senior team. After win twice
the TT PRO League for Jabloteh in 2007 and 2008 he moved tp W Connection FC
spending a couple of years there. He got a break and the returned playing for
Morvant Caledonia United and then moved to his currently side Club Sando FC.
For his coutry he represented the
Soca Warriors in Pan American Games in Guadalajara Mexico in 2011. At the senior
level, he made his debut in a friendly game against Finland in 2011 when
both countries agreed matches with only local players.
He has in the total 13 appearences
in ScotiaBank CONCACAF Champions League. In his 9 for Jabloteh he faced San
Francisco (Panama), CD Marathon (Honduras), Santos (Mexico), Toluca (MEX) and
DC United (USA). For W Connection he got 4 games facing Xelajú (Guatmala),
Chivas Guadalajara (MEX), CD Árabe Unido (PAN) and Houston Dynamo (USA).

Future
“My dream is playing professional
soccer outside my country because football is my life. It represents what you
are as na individual and you also learn a lot life being professional. But for
now I am concentrating on helping Club Sando FC to winning the league and
qualifying for CFU Club Championship 2018.” Completed the center back about his
aims for the future.
